Asian fusion Chili

Asian rub recipe
This is good for 2 lbs of meat. I used ribs, but you could also roast a pork shoulder or beef brisket. Use tofu for a vegetarian version or use no meat in the chili.
1/3 cup brown sugar
2. T garlic powder
2 T. chili powder
2 T. ground coriander
2 T. ground cumin
2 T. five spice powder
1 T. salt
2 t. onion powder
2 t. ground ginger
1 t. cayenne pepper
Chili Recipe
Meat or tofu prepared with Asian rub(optional)
1 T. oil
One large onion
one head of garlic
one lb. poblano peppers
one lb. green peppers
two pounds plum tomatoes
4 cups chicken broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
3 cans beans, I used black, kidney and pinto
1 T. Chili pepper
1 T. Five Spice Powder
1 T. ground cumin
2 T. chili oil
salt to taste
1. Chop up all the peppers, onion and garlic and saute in a large pot until softened. Chop up tomatoes and add them.
2. Add the spices and chili oil and stir in.
3. Add the meat or tofu if using it, beans, soy sauce and broth.
4. Bring to a boil and add salt to taste. simmer for an hour preferably to allow flavors to come together.
